Before you call
If it is safe, turn off the internal stopcock to stop the flow of water and place a container under the leak. Do not touch electrical fittings that are wet — if water is near a consumer unit or light fitting, isolate the electrics too.
Gas appliances
Gas appliance work, including boilers, is not offered here. If you smell gas, leave the property and call the National Gas Emergency Service on 0800 111 999.
